01CHALLENGE
What the project had to solve.
FINIK FAMILY is a store for natural gift sets: dried fruit, nuts, churchkhela, tea, honey in wooden book-style boxes.
The specifics of the gift niche — the buyer almost never knows exactly what to get. They're looking for a solution, not a product: a gift for mom, for a colleague, for a birthday, preferably healthy and sugar-free, within a specific budget. A standard store answers that with a catalog of 36 sets — and the buyer drowns in choice. Decision paralysis → closed tab.
Plus the usual e-commerce tasks: a convenient catalog, a product card that removes doubts, and checkout without extra steps.
02SOLUTION
What we built and why.
A catalog with filters built for the occasion. Product groups on the home page, a catalog of sets with sorting and badges (bestseller, new, gift) — the buyer narrows the choice fast instead of scrolling through everything.
A product card that removes doubts. Gallery, set size choice (mini / book / big with 6 sections), the full contents marked "no sugar, no preservatives, no gluten," weight, delivery, and reviews — all on one screen.
A "Frequently bought together" cross-sell. On a set's card — nut butter, natural tea, honey. The buyer rounds out the gift, and the average order value grows without discounts.
Checkout on one screen. Cart, delivery (Nova Poshta / courier / pickup), payment (card / on delivery / Apple Pay and Google Pay), promo code, and an "add a card to the gift" option — without a multi-step form.
An AI gift selection assistant — the main answer to "I don't know what to give." "Build a gift together": the buyer writes in free text, like to a friend — "a gift for mom, budget 1,500 UAH, she likes tea and dried fruit" — and AI clarifies what's needed (the occasion, whether sugar-free) and offers three ready sets within the budget with an explanation of why each fits. Instead of 36 cards — three relevant options and an "Add to cart" button. A "Build your own box" configurator: for those who want to assemble it themselves — they pick the contents by section (nuts, dried fruit, desserts, tea), and the system totals the price in real time. The assistant honestly warns that it can make mistakes and advises checking important details.
How we built it: a store from scratch (catalog, product card, cart, checkout with Nova Poshta integration and online payment), an AI assistant on a language model (understands a free-form request, holds a dialog, picks sets), a box configurator with real-time price totaling. Development was led by our developer paired with AI-assisted development.
